Sharing a part of a book I’m reading, I came across this gem when I went to a bookstore Warehouse Sale. Believing it’s just some book only a few would take a chance on buying because it was cheaply priced at P50 compared to other books on sale. I never thought that I’d find words to live by and thoughts of the author/s that made me say “I could not agree more”.

This particular excerpt struck me the most (though I haven’t finished the book yet) ;) I hope you too could relate to it.

Real love- whether romantic love, close friendship, or a family relationship-happens long after (love) at first sight. It shows up as people get to know each other more deeply and often they work through tough things together. Real love in relationships isn’t a magic act- it’s a journey.

When people say, “It was love at first sight.” what they really mean is “I was attracted to that person the first time I saw them.” There is nothing wrong with being infatuated with someone at the start of a relationship. The real question, however, is, do you have a love that is growing stronger and deeper everyday?

I don’t believe in Love at first sight; I believe in Love at LAST sight. Each of our relationships has to have the potential to be better the next time we’re together than it was the previous time so that the last time we see each other we’re closer than ever before.

haze’ 30-day challenge “DONT BE LATE”

Life seems a bit ho-hum these past few months. This morning I decided to give myself a challenge every month, just to get me back on track. Hopefully after every 30-day challenge I’ll get used to the discipline that the challenge taught me. So for this month I decided to challenge myself to take on something that I’ve been battling with for so long…BEING LATE.

Image

This is my challenge for December 2012.

How about you? Do you have “late problems” too? Are you up for this challenge? Join me as I log in here the date and time as I come in for work starting on Monday (December 3) and count the days that I’ll be successful with not being late.

Musings from someone who’s missing

Hello world hope you’re listening

There’s someone I’ve been missing

The better half of me.”

I miss sweet nothings, little surprises,

Romantic evenings till the sun rises.

I miss soft whispers, gentle and sweet,

With arms entwined then our eyes meet.

I miss long walks and adventures

Of destinations we’re not sure

Just the idea of being together

Makes us not mind, no never.

I miss endless conversations over coffee,

Filled with laughter and glee.

I miss serious talks over decisions made,

Agreeing to meet in between and not hate.

I miss building memories with you that’ll last,

Pushing behind a dark-filled past.

I miss us dreaming of things to come

Hoping it’ll come not minding where it’s from.

I miss…I miss a lot about you

I hope and pray that you’re missing me too.

“So hear this now, Come Home, Come Home

I’ve been waiting for you.”

*Italicized lines from the song Come Home by One Republic feat. Sara Bareilles.

Off to the supermarket to buy the ingredients =)

Has anyone of you tried this? Comment away! :D

Decoding Guys

I seldom buy Cosmopolitan Magazines these past few months. But now that I have a steady Internet connection at home, i came across Cosmo’s site and found this:

http://www.cosmopolitan.com/quizzes-games/online-quiz/guy-phrases-quiz

I answered the quiz and the RESULTS:

“I’m a FLUENT FEMALE”

That simply means I can simply decode a guy’s cryptic message. Hahahaha!

Example: “I need space” MEANS “I want out.”

I guess you should try it out too. Especially the girls out there. And for the guys, to check if the answers given were really what it means based on your experience.

Enjoy! =)

let’s cook!

I never thought I would eventually deal with this topic. I never really grew up knowing or learning how to cook. It’s just not me. I love to eat, taste different varieties…but COOK? Oh no, not really.

Now, I don’t know what struck me lately but yes I indeed tried to cook without a cookbook or recipe in hand. My imag

ination is the key. I remember a conversation with my fiancee’s 17-yr. old sister, Lea:

Lea: Ate, did you learn how to cook because your getting married? ;)

Me: (caught by the moment) Uhmm..no, I just want variety. A new or different taste that would satisfy my buds. =)

Well, in all honesty th

at really is my top reason. Maybe, I’ll put cooking for my future hubby on the second. Because, it just really feels bland if you’d see, smell, and eventually eat the same menu every week.

So, join me my dear readers as I post here my creative creations when it comes to cooking. With a lil twist and a few tweaks to your normal menu. And I swear, even future hubby says their delish and most of the time out-of-the-ordinary!!! (That’s why I love him so much !) hahaha

Second Chances

cropped-photo0538.jpg

I believe in second chances. No matter how complicated, we all need and deserve a second chance especially in matters of the heart..LOVE.

A guy who falls in love with a girl, gets her pregnant, parents agreed that they marry, they were teenagers back then. Few years later, they have two kids..one is five the other is two. But the marriage is not working. They separated. The kids stayed with his wife. He as a man, is trying to reconcile things with his wife even if his wife is the problem.  Then he sees how his kids are raised. He files for an annulment. His family is on his side. He wants out of the relationship. This is not the family he dreamt of. He’s good with kids. A “Family Man” I must say. But is it his fault that at a young age he made these choices? Doesn’t he deserve a second chance? On love? On finding a life-long partner?

I say yes. He deserves one.

He searches for the girl. Gets turned down every time he honestly says that he has kids. He can’t hide them. He is proud of them. They are his bundles of joy. But he wants a life-long partner too. Someone who he can spend his days and nights with. Someone who would fill the void in his heart. But he gets turned down. Over and over again. Doesn’t he deserve a second chance? On love? On finding a life-long partner?

I say yes. He deserves one.

He meets a girl. Crushes over her. He likes her. And she likes him too. But then she just got out of a complicated relationship. He sees the guy as a good man, but, when she learns of his status she’s having doubts of moving further in the relationship. Is moving out early on her best move to not repeat what she thinks as a complicated subject? Or isn’t this her second chance on love?

I say yes. She deserves one. He deserves one.

What do you think…? =)

Thanks to http://alhafiez.com/second-chance/ for the image. Credits to you. =)

BINONDO CHRONICLES

Photo0047

NEVER FAILS!

So umorder ako ng 4pcs. Bakit? Ayoko mabusog, alam kong marami pa kaming kakainan.

Bata pa yata ako nung huli akong makakita nito. (Photo Courtesy of Pinoy Exchange.com)

4th stop: ANG TUNAY BEEF HOUSE (ATNB)

Photo0058

Mukhang masarap kumain dito kahit nasa tabi ng estero dahil fresh at right on the spot pagka-order mo saka nila iluluto yun. Ayos!

6th stop: DAVID’S TEA HOUSE (dapat), HO-LAND BAKESHOP

Habang naglalakad kami sa kahabaan ng Ongpin St. patingin-tingin ako kapag may lilikuan baka may makita kaming masarap kainan…este maganda puntahan pala.

Photo0050

Winking smile

7th stop: SANTO CRISTO DE LONGOS SHRINE

Pagkakita namin lapit agad!

Photo0062Photo0059

Ako yung nasa left side (salamat nagka-picture din! kahit nakatalikod)

8th stop: LAKAD, LAKAD, LAKAD

May nakita akong isang alley kaya pumasok kami.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

To read more, I invite you to visit this blog: http://http://happysole.wordpress.com/2010/02/18/pasig-river-cruise-a-cheap-day-tour/

9th stop: NEW PO-HENG LUMPIA HOUSE (DAPAT!) , UWIAN!

Can’t wait for the next leg!

This nearly broke my heart, but then again I realized “I should be happy” and then tears fell. I hope we have more of these kind of people especially here in the Philippines.

Dogs are not simply animals who we can easily leave and not care for. They too are living beings and with that they too deserve to live like us human beings. They too like us, need food, shelter, and comfort. They too need companions in as much as we humans need it. My heart goes out to you Fiona and the people at Hope for Paws. Keep up the great work!

Thank You http://chicogarcia.wordpress.com for sharing this on your blog. :)

The Original State

Image

A girl was once asked, What do you want?  And she answered “Love and Peace”

Then a follow-up question, “What takes away your Peace of Mind?” She mentioned 5.

1. When the people around me are unhappy.

2. When things start falling out of place.

3. When I don’t feel God. I feel spiritually thirsty.

4. Feelings of doubt.

5. Stress.

There are three most important experiences behind every human soul. Love, Happiness, and Peace

And when we are deprived of these three we feel empty, exhausted, lost. Like we’re going on circles not knowing what to do and where to go. In this state we feel like the world is closing in around us and there’s nothing we can do. This is where family and friends come in to shed some light.  But since we’re covered in darkness, we most of the time close our world to them too. What we do not realize is,

“We do not lose PEACE, LOVE, and HAPPINESS because of the circumstances but because of the struggles we create in our mind between what we think should be and what reality is.”

Our thoughts play a major role in what has become of us. The mind is a powerful machine that has the capacity to destroy if not grow and nourish the soul. We feed our mind with thoughts of resentment, blame, guilt, other’s expectations, worries, things we cannot change, and the list goes on. BUT, we can also feed our mind with thoughts of love, peace, and happiness. IT’S OUR CHOICE! Isn’t it? We are the sole controllers of our mind. It’s not the people around us, it’s not the situations that we face, IT’S JUST US. If we really love ourselves, why would we think of negative thoughts. If we think of negative thoughts it simply means we do not value ourselves because we keep holding onto garbage. We need to discern. If I want PEACE, I need to plant seeds of peace…RIGHT NOW. It has been said that in thinking positively “You focus on the solutions not the problem.” Thinking about the problem is only a waste of thought. It eats up your energy while you go around about the problem. We have the power to create our own thoughts in accordance to what is true within us.

So what is our Original State? Each one of us is originally filled with Love, Peace, and Happiness. When we’re lost , we need to find ourselves for us to be able to go back to our original state. That’s our default.

A positive thinker lives in the present. Yes. We learn lessons from the past, we live in the present, and gear up and go for our future.

Image

I am currently in the process of going back to my original state.

We can only be wounded by the one we love the most.

Yes that’s true.

Couple UP!

Hello bloggers and readers! I just couldn’t pass on without posting this one.

I attended ”The Feast- Pasig” yesterday. It’s a Catholic Prayer gathering held every Sunday in different venues around the world (as far as I know they have Feast builders in the US and in Europe). It starts with the Holy Mass followed by a Talk and then worship. It’s like spending 2-3 hours worshiping and listening to God’s word. I tell you, it’s “the happiest place to be”. :D

Right before you enter the venue Ushers would hand out “Feast Bulletins”. As I went through the pages I couldn’t help but notice a section for “Couples”. (I’m married now so my eyes now easily looks for the Couples section. I used to stay at the Singles section of that bulletin before. Haha! )

This particular section for this weekend enumerated of “The Ten Laws of Marriage”.

Image

#3 struck me first. This is usually what’s missing among couples.

I firmly agree that couples need to spend “quality time” with each other. But you need not be with each other ALL-THE-TIME (like you cannot eat-sleep-breathe without the other). Remember you both have separate lives before you met. You need to stick with your individuality still, even when you’re already inside the relationship.

Having a “significant other” in your life is not your sole relationship. It’s simply an addition to your existing relationships. What existing relationships am I pertaining to? It’s your relationship with your friends, family, community and the list goes on. Those are relationships you’ve built through time. And the presence of your significant other in your life is another relationship built and to be nurtured with love through time. That’s the reason why we introduce our significant other to our family and friends. It makes our relationships grow! :)

Conversations are healthy. And I mean conversations that do not only compose of “sweet-nothings” and “mushy acts and ideas” but rather those with sense and content. And to strike a good conversation with your partner you need to allow yourselves some time without the other. A good “ME time” will do. Or you spend time with friends, siblings, have coffee, shop, drink, socialize. Allow your partner the same. Why? So while you’re out with each other’s friends/siblings, the time apart would give you reasons to miss the other more. And the moment you see each other again (at night when you get back home) both of you will be filled with stories to talk about. It’s like catching up on an old friend even when you were just apart for a couple of hours.

Try it! :)

I’ll blog about the other numbers tomorrow. I choose 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, & 10.

How about you? What number/s particularly strike you the most?

Talk about it here! Share your thoughts. ;)
